Chiropractic Techniques We Utilize
Each of our techniques is designed to treat specific spinal conditions. So no matter what pain you are suffering from, we can help you with neck, back, and joint pain. Some of the chiropractic techniques in which we specialize include:
Our chiropractors, Duane and Steph, were trained and certified at the Palmer College of Chiropractic, where most of the techniques we utilize were taught. The focus of the Palmer Package includes detailed exams and precise adjustments. The package integrates various techniques that allow us to pinpoint your condition and apply the right treatment. With the Palmer Package, there is no one-size-fits-all treatment. You are unique, and so is your condition.
We use precise adjustments that truly make a difference in how you feel. Our physicians practice the Gonstead method, which we have found to be quite effective in treating joint and muscle pain. Originating at the Palmer College of Chiropractic, the Gonstead method focuses on spine and nervous system analysis. How much pain you are experiencing will determine if this technique is right for you.
If you recently visited another chiropractor but did not get the results you were looking for, you may want to explore the Diversified Chiropractic Method. Otherwise known as the high-velocity, low-amplitude (HVLA) technique, the procedure includes a short, quick thrust over the restricted joints one at a time. The objective is to restore normal range of motion in the joint. We position your body in specific ways to optimize the adjustment of the spine.
We use a special device to manipulate the spine or extremity joints. The device is a mechanical force manual assisted (MFMA) tool that allows us to approach treatment with a softer touch. You won’t feel or hear the device, but you will feel the results.
The Thompson-Drop uses gravitational pull and table drops to lessen the force we may otherwise apply to your spinal area. If you are experiencing severe pain or don’t like the pop noises you hear in traditional treatment, you may prefer the Thompson-Drop.
This method is specially designed for pregnant women. It involves the evaluation and treatment for an expectant mother throughout pregnancy to reduce the likelihood of a breached birth, lower back pain, sleeping pain, and other common side effects of pregnancy. This technique is valuable if the mother’s physician expects a breech at 36 weeks. It will return the baby to its proper position.
We use the Flexion-Distraction technique if we suspect that you have a damaged disc or sciatica. We eliminate twisting and popping from this method. Instead, we employ slow traction of the lower back to reduce muscle spasms, sharp pains, and tightness. You will not feel or hear popping during Flexion-Distraction.
What You Can Expect as a New Patient
Upon your first visit, our chiropractors and office staff will make you feel right at home. We want you to feel at ease during each visit from the time you walk through the door until the treatment is complete. We explain our entire process so you know what to expect during the treatment sessions.
We provide a comprehensive approach to chiropractic therapy. Meaning, we conduct a thorough evaluation of your present condition and look into your medical history. This gives us the information necessary to provide the most effective chiropractic care. We treat you as an individual and realize that your spinal condition is unique.
