He comes to Olson Family Chiropractic with two years of experience in a wellness based, family centered practice in Inver Grove Heights. Dr. Jake was married in August of 2016. His wife, Brittany, a middle school teacher in Farmington, and their dog, Kirby, live in Cannon Falls, Minnesota. They welcomed their son, Daniel, in April of 2018. Outside of the office Dr. Jake enjoys watching Disney movies with his family, hunting, golfing, and ice fishing.
Crystal has over 15 years of diverse physical therapy experience, primarily in outpatient orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, and pediatric settings. Her treatment approach focuses on retraining nerves and muscles through hands-on techniques, teaching appropriate exercises, and educating her clients on why they are crucial for optimal well-being.
She practices a combination of manual therapy techniques, including craniosacral and myofascial therapy, a gentle, hands-on, non-invasive therapy technique. She has attended continuing education courses for this technique.
She also practices myofascial release techniques, another form of hands-on tissue work, to decrease pain-causing tension. Crystal is a certified Kinesio taping practitioner. Depending on how it is used, Kinesio tape can be used to encourage muscles to fire for improved strength or discourage muscle firing to calm spasms, reducing pain. The tape is non-medicated and provides support and stability to muscles and fascia, aiding in the healing process.
Crystal promotes positive outcomes through educating her patients about their impairments and anatomy, encouraging active participation in healing through a home program, and providing knowledge for prevention of future injury or dysfunction.
